There are so many lithium ion impact drivers today that it’s hard to make a buying decision, but this model has a little more going for it than you might expect.
Today I want to talk a little bit about the Makita LXDT04A impact driver and automotive charger Kit, which is an 18 V LXT lithium-ion powerhouse of a tool capable of handling the toughest of DIY tasks with the utmost of ease.
Although finding a decent review of this product online seems to be rather impossible, so I’ve decided to write a Makita LXDT04A impact driver Kit review myself.
This impact driver has been designed to make it extremely useful for when you do not have access to a 120V power outlet as the 18V lithium-ion battery can be easily charged from your vehicles 12V power outlet in under an hour making this a superb tool for areas that don’t have power coverage.
The first time I saw one of these kits I was very impressed with the sturdy carry case which holds the driver and one hour automotive charger. Although the color didn’t exactly win me over with its aquatic teal appearance, the strength and durability of the carry case you can clearly see. When you first open the case you’ll find the charger and impact driver that looks pretty much the same as any other cordless impact driver you’ll find elsewhere, but don’t let that fool you.
This is Makita’s replacement for the well-liked BTD141A model but with increased toque and less weight.

Originally this particular Makita was priced at just under $600, but has been marked down to just over $300 on Amazon recently. If price is anything to go on, surely there has to be something special about this particular kit if it has such a hefty price tag compared to other drivers on the market. So let’s go into a bit more detail and look at the technical aspects and features of the Makita LXDT04A.
This latest model has a built in four-pole motor which is capable of delivering 1420 inch pounds of maximum torque, so there’s no doubt about the fact that this driver can handle almost anything without really even trying. The manufacturers have also taken long hours into account, delivering this powerful product at a weight pared down to only 3.3 pounds which will lessen fatigue no doubt. Another thing I really like about this kit,-is that it has a variable speed control ranging from 0 – 2300 RPM and can also deliver impacts from 0 – 3200 IPM, making this beauty extremely adaptable.
This tool would be a great addition to your toolkit for automotive work, impact driving, fencing, decking, heating, ventilation and air conditioning work etc. and all capable in the remotest of regions or situations where there is no easily accessible 120V power available.
The drive itself also comes installed with a proprietary hammer and anvil impact mechanism,-which is manufactured using only the best raw materials Makita could get their hands on. Also, with a built-in LED light that has an afterglow, you can be sure that dark spaces will never be an issue ever again. There’s not much else to say about the Makita LXTD04A impact drill, other than it looks to be a great DIY power tool addition to any kit.
Best Place to Purchase the Makita Impact Driver Kit
The best place to purchase this Impact driver, in my opinion, is Amazon. Their outstanding customer support services when combined with their cheap shipping and frequent discount deals mean that they simply can’t be beat.
